The 2010/11 applicants' list for this bursary is now closed.

The MA Publishing course (Book pathway) was fortunate to be chosen by Penguin to be the focus of its very first publishing bursary. Penguin offered a bursary of £3,000 for the academic year 2009-2010. We are delighted to announce that the bursary has been renewed for the academic year 2010-11. The bursary is awarded through a competitive process open to UK/EU students who have been offered and accepted a place on the course by the deadline of June 30, 2010.

The Stationers' Foundation Bursary 2010/11

This scheme for 2010/11 is now closed.

The historical Stationers' Company, the ancient home for Britain's publishing industry, and now the keen promoters of adaptation and change within the modern media age, offered a bursary for one person to attend the MA Publishing course in 2010/11 at London College of Communication.

The Bursary was valued at £6,000 to cover tuition fees and to provide a contribution towards living expenses. The London College of Communication has had a long and strong relationship with the Stationers Company and throughout the year we encourage students to attend the leading industry events held by the Company.

Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press logoThe MA in Book Publishing has been in consultation with Cambridge University Press, at Cambridge and Delhi, and successfully negotiated for employees at their Indian offices to come to London to study over a period of five years - one per year. The purpose behind this partnership is to allow for 5 young Indian publishers to study on the MA in Book Publishing and take the skills and knowledge they will gain during that time and apply it within the Indian publishing market for the benefit of CUP. India is known to have a lively and enthusiastic local publishing scene, but also it acknowledges the need to adjust to the demands of global publishing. The MA in Book Publishing staff are delighted to be able to work closely with CUP on this initiative. The first year of this initiative was 2009-10.

Macmillan

Beginning with the academic year 2010-11, Macmillan will also be sending staff members from their Indian offices to study on the MA in Publishing, Book Pathway, with a similar objective of helping to raise local skills to a global level.

Both these initiatives represent exceptional backing from the publishing industry.
